Unlocked Samsung S7 Active not working on Verizon
I inserted a Verizon sim card into my Samsung Galaxy S7 active and unlocked it. I used the unlock code provided by AT&T. However, the phone does not work on the Verizon network. Does anybody have any ideas why?

As @Anthony.Dukes wrote, your trying to get a GSM only phone to work on a CDMA network.
It can’t.
With the exception of the iPhone 6 and 6s, ATT phones do not have active CDMA bands and will not work on Verizon or Sprint.

Some phones are built for GSM based networks and won't work on CDMA based neeorks. FYI ATT and TMO are GSM. Sprint and Verizon are CDMA.
Samsung makes many varients of it's phones. Check the exact model number on Google to see if the hardware supports Verizon.

According to AT&T tech support, the phone is unlocked and should work.

Yeah it's unlocked but an unlock code can't unlock software locks only sim locks.

Carrier unlocking doesn’t remove the software or hardware limitations of the phone.

GOT MY ANSWER FROM COMMUNITY!!! YOU GUYZ ROCK!!!!!! (delete all APNs; add Network, APN, and VoLTE: Samsung Galaxy S7 - restart - WOWOWOWOW!!!
p.s. wasn't trying to get ATT phone to work on Verizon/Sprint - just TMobile! AND NOW IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😄 Happy Dance 😄
p.p.s. 'Don't know who titled this "Unlocked...not working on Verizon" BUT IT WASN'T ME!!!!!!
THIS WAS MY ORIGINAL QUESTION:
I, too, have problems with unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 (with ATT on back). My carrier is T-Mobile and since ATT uses same "lines" as T-Mobile the people at store thought a simple fix. One tried giving me new SIM card - not working yet. In fact, I've had T-Mobile reps on line 3 times and they helped me enter codes to make it 4G LTE - - - but even tho' the status bar says 4G LTE I STILL don't have DATA ability! *
Didn't notice this for several months, as I mainly use with WIFI!
But paying $40 + for service...well I need Internet Data!
WISH I KNEW WHO POSTED THE SOLUTION THAT WORKED!!! I JUST THANK HIM/HER FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!
*Supposedly a Specialist will one day call me! Been waiting couple of weeks!!!!

T-mobile and ATT do not use ‘same lines’. Or any lines for that matter.
There are 2 types of cellular technology Verizon and Sprint use CDMA, the rest of the world uses GSM. While CDMA phones have included GSM included, the reverse is usually not the case.
Because ATT and T-mobile are GSM networks, a phone that works on ATT will work on T-mobile, and visa versa.
You must contact T-mobile to get their APN settings. MMS and hotspot may not work. A third party app for these would get around the carrier specific programming.

Hi, lizdance & All! I'm sorry ... I didn't think would get any answers from the Community, so I hopped onto someone else's thread. Somewhere along the line I got my answer - an answer T-MOBILE COULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH IN 3 months & LABORIOUS & LONG PHONE CALLS changing SETTINGS!
The answer came from another thread in the Community. I just wanted to get Data, which hadn't gotten in Many Months of service - didn't much notice as I usually use WIFI - but I was paying for Data too!!
The brilliant "Expert" or whatever said to do this:
delete all APNs; add Network, APN, and VoLTE: Samsung Galaxy S7 - restart - WOW...it WORKED!!!
I think I'll delve into your advice, too, as someday would like to possibly change to Verizon...if possible!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I see. Glad you did get a solution. Surprised T-mobile didn’t get their act together.
As long as you know your phone will not work on Verizon. With only a couple exceptions, ATT phones will not work on Verizon.
