I have a galaxy s6 that I bought years ago to use with straight talk, it's an at&t galaxy s6. Being it was at&t I just used their at&t sim card from their BYOD kit I'm currently trying to unlock the device so I can set up a phone number on it but it's locked. I 've tried contacting at&t but they sent me an automated email denying me so I called and they said there's nothing that can do without an account number but I have no way of even knowing. It's frustrating being it's an old devise and I had bought it off ebay years ago

We understand the need to have your device unlocked @Sneakycatfish.

Devices that are bought from Ebay can only be unlocked online through our Device Unlock Portal.

Since you mentioned that you used the device on Straight Talk last, this could mean that your device is now locked to to that carrier. Then if Straight Talk is unable to unlock your device, you would then need to reach out to the original owner of the device.

We would have to access the original owners account to unlock the device and provide you with any information. This requires their permission.

We hope this helps! Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
