Unlock problems

my wife and I just recently bought S20 Ultra phones and have an installment plan for them. Our old phones(Both S8) were paid off last year. I have tried to unlock my old S8 for my mother to use on another carrier and it keeps saying my phone isn't eligible because I haven't paid it off. What do I need to do to unlock my fully paid S8?

Note: I looked into unlocking my phone and checked it before we pre-ordered our s20 phones and it was eligible. As soon as I pre-ordered the phones, this happened and has stayed the same even though the S8 is now inactive, and has been for a week.

We can definitely help you unlock your S8, @Tyricon.

There's a couple of very important requirements that need to be met before your S8s are eligible for unlock. They're fluid so you may have met them before you per-ordered your S20s.

If you payed your devices off on your monthly bill you can submit a new unlock request at the start of your next statement bill period. Also, make sure you don’t have a past-due balance.
