Unlock code from AT&T does not work (Samsung Galaxy S5)
Hello,
I am trying to unlock my Samsung Galaxy S5. My unlock request was approved and AT&T gave me the 8-digit unlock code.
I followed the unlock steps that they gave to me:
1. Power off the device, remove the battery, and insert a non-AT&T SIM card.
2. Re-insert the battery and power on the device with non-AT&T SIM.
3. The device displays Enter the device unlock code.
4. Enter the eight-digit unlock code.
5. Press OK.
but I got an error message saying that the unlock was unsuccesful.I already wasted 2 out of the 5 attempts that I have so I'm freaking out a little bit. Both times I inserted the 8 digit carefully and correctly. I did not mistype it.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for your help!

It's me again.
I tried one more time today and the unlock was successful!
So it turns out, the unlock code may not work immediately after you receive the email from AT&T.
If you experience my same issue, I suggest you do not waste all of your attempts to unlock your device and wait at least something like a day or two before trying again.
I hope this helps someone.

Hi @marcymassa
Thank you reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!
I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your unlock code. The unlock code that we provide you is the code sent to us by the manufacturer. If the unlock code is not working, please contact Samsung Support for assistance.
There was another user in our community that found a solution through research online that worked for his S3. The post can be accessed at https://forums.att.com/t5/Samsung-Discussion-Support/Unlock-code-for-galaxy-s3-does-not-work/m-p/3963728#M889. It may work as well for your S5.
Hope this helps. Thank you for being a part of the AT&T family!
