Trying to set up a standalone Samsung Galaxy Watch4 for my son
This is so frustrating. I've been going in loops with the experts, the Wearable App, the website, and I can't for the life of me get a QR code for the E-Sim or get this watch to function. I DO NOT want this to be linked to my phone, this is for my son, it does me no good if I can't call it or it shows up as my number. I have an account set up with the phone, with its own number, but I just can't seem to get it set up.

I was able to get it working by taking it into the ATT store. It still took them several hours, and they had to replace the SIM in my phone and reset the watch a few times. However, they were eventually able to get it to standalone after setting its eSIM up manually with my phone, then turning bluetooth off on the watch.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not have a standalone option like iWatch.

Well I'd be curious to know how well it works. According to samsung, and all of the service providers, Samsung watches are not functional a standalone devices.

It has been working well so far. As long as he keeps Bluetooth off, it works fine with 4G LTE.
