Trying to Google unlock my at&t Samsung tablet for almost a year now

I bought a tablet at a yard sale  and brought it home come to find out it is Google locked

User locks can only be removed by the user. Both iCloud and Google locks are user locks. They have absolutely nothing to do with the carrier.

There is not going to be a resolution because nobody but whoever put the Google lock on it can remove it, that would mean going back to the yard sale and talking to them.

Exactly what the Hades is "Google locked?"  I've never heard of such thing. 

 

If the original owner had a Google Account, and if Factory Reset Protection was enabled and the account not removed prior to a factory reset, then the device is still locked to the original owner's account.  Google didn't lock the device and Google can't unlock it, only the previous owner can unlock it by logging in with their account they placed on the device and failed to remove, which was their responsibility to do prior to reselling the device.
