Suddenly having lost 5G access at locations that previously didn't have this issue

As subject states, I've been noticing a loss in 5G network connectivity at places that didn't have this issue previously. There's no outages in LA according to the map but my friends have also noticed this issue briefly as well.

@Makkuho Could be as simple as over saturation of the 5G band from the local towers. Everybody is told they "must" have 5G now so the local towers are possibly running at capacity until the FCC allows for more bandwidth. Or it could be maintenance/upgrade of the 5G bands. Either way, AT&T won't publicly announce that information.

@OttoPylot Only one way to find out and that's by waiting I guess. Thanks for the insight though.

@Makkuho Yep. It's also possible, remotely tho, that it's your phone. If other phone brands do not have that issue you might want to look into any recent updates to your phone.

@OttoPylot been mad checking the update button, did 2 updates recently; missed a big one a bit ago and did another one just now but issue is still there.

@Makkuho  Then it's probably not your phone and is just a tower saturation or maintenance issue. I leave my phone on 5G Auto but if the signal is weak or non-existent, then my phone switches to 5Ge or LTE, which is fine.

@OttoPylot I tried to turn off the option for 5G auto or find the option to go to 5Ge or LTE but I can't select the option for some reason.

@Makkuho  Ah, you have a Samsung phone. I have an iPhone. I believe there is an app for the Samsung phones that will allow you to toggle between 5G/LTE.

I've been facing a similar problem with my 5G network access in locations where it used to work perfectly fine. Has there been any update, or maintenance work that might be causing this? Looking for a solution to restore consistent 5G service.

@ahsan2  That information is not made public. You can call Support and they may mention something like maintenance is being done but they don't really know. It could be as simple as saturation of the 5G bands in that service area. If that's the case, then to increase 5G strength and propagation AT&T would need FCC approval. They can't just flip a switch when complaints are made. That's the problem with 5G. Now that everyone feels they NEED to have 5G (or 5G+), the towers quickly reach their capacity and start  utilizing 5Ge (enhanced LTE) or LTE.

It could also be a maintenance or upgrade issue. In either case, you just have to wait and see if it improves. If not, then start looking around for another provider who offers consistent and reliable 5G or 5G+ in your area. All carriers are going thru the same issues from time to time.
