Shattered glass on back of phone not screen Galaxy S-10

The phone dropped before I could get protective cover on it. It fell back first and shattered around the edges and a few crack in center. I did not realize the back was also glass. Again this was not the front screen. Can the back glass be replaced? Luckily I purchase insurance. Why would they make the back glass, it makes it so slippery.

Yes insurance will cover the full replacement value of the phone, the deductible is probably somewhere between two and three hundred dollars. The back is glass because it has to be in order to be Wireless chargeable. All of the new phones charge wirelessly through the back of the phone. This includes iPhone, LG, and Samsung. I don't think anyone makes a metal backed phone anymore, and only the cheap ones come with plastic
