Samsung S22 Ultra doesn't work after latest update

My S22 Ultra can no longer make or receive calls after the latest update on 11/22/2023. The phone worked fine until then. AT&T store says it is a Samsung issue and I should upgrade my phone, but they want me to pay for the upgrade. Samsung says it is an AT&T problem, because they have not see this phone have issues with other carriers. I am beyond frustrated. Can someone please help me?

For those of you who are still not back on the network. This user found the fix, he had his internal antenna replaced at the cost of 40 bucks.

It is both a Samsung and AT&T problem and Samsung's aware of it and so is AT&T and they're working on a patch.

You could add a virtual number to your phone through Google voice at least temporarily

If call forwarding is still working, forward all your calls to the Google voice number

Hi @Tiny1104, thank you for reaching out to us. We understand that you're having trouble with your Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra after the latest update, it seems that the issue is related to the phone’s ability to make and receive calls.

The software updates are rolled out by Google who owns the Android OS, and AT&T or Samsung will roll out the updates once available. Google is working on a fix, and will roll out the updates soon.

In the meantime, please go to app store, and download the app named 'Phone by Google'. Upon completing installation successfully, set it as default to make and receive calls.  This will allow you to make and receive calls on your device.

For more details, please contact Samsung support team for further assistance.

We hope this information helps!

Will I be able to access my CONTACTS ? This is part  of the issue as well. I have gone to ATT  store and they were not able to help me. I called Samsung and after 90 min, they advised me to go to phone repair shop. unbelievable!

Some may take this as a trivial problem , I agree, but right now it is hurting me financially.

So can I purchase a new 1000 dollar phone and transfer over my contact info, will this FIX the problem? No one seems to KNOW!

The same issue happened to us a few days ago and I consulted this thread to find a fix. The Phone by Google option did not work for us unfortunately. After trying a bunch of things, we wondered if the issue was SIM-related and ended up removing the SIM from the phone w/ the issue and putting it into another phone. It worked w/out any issue. So we then assumed the issue was the device. After putting another SIM into the device that had the issue and it worked well, we went back to being clueless. We ultimately just visited AT&T and told them that we tried. They 1st suggested that we try a new SIM card. That rectified the issue. Not sure if this comment would help anyone else or if there's an updated thread already out there, but I wanted to share.

The update that was pushed last night to our ATT Samsung Galaxy S22s causes android.process.acore, and various apps crash or don't launch. Contacts, for example. I would delete contacts and resync, but can't open the Contacts app to do that. We paid a small fortune for our, phones and you have turned both of them into bricks. This is completely unacceptable.

Just here to say I am experiencing all the same issues mentioned on this thread since this update was forced on me last night. I have the same phone. Theu better fix this soon because this is unacceptable,  I can't even make an outgoing text or call in case of an emergency. And these phones cost a fortune.

If anyone is still having trouble getting their phone to work properly, the AT&T center in Best Buy was able to get mine back up and running very quickly.
