Samsung Fold Z3 not receiving or making calls

I bought my Samsung Fold Z3 from the Samsung store unlocked. Since buying it I have had to switch my mobile network to only connect to 3G/2G because it wasn't allowing me to connect to 5G. I went to the ATT store and the manager told me I should've bought the phone from the AT&T store. I pay for the AT&T service not the phone so where I get my phone from is irrelevant. Today on 03/02/2022 my phone completely stopped working where I couldn't make or receive calls. My software is up to date and i have restarted my phone and checked its not in airplane mode. This is extremely predatory behavior on behalf of ATT. I am seeing that anyone who bought a phone from the Samsung store is having the same issue. I am a first responder and cannot afford to not be able to make and receive calls. If this issue is not fixed Im going to have to switch over to T-Mobile's First Responder Magenta plan. My partner currently has the T-Mobile plan and has not had this issue and he also bought his phone from the Samsung store. I chose Firstnet because the price was competitive but as of recently I am losing faith in the company.

Congratulations on your new purchase, ! We kindheartedly understand the inconvenience of not being able to communicate via calls has brought you! Let's get you back to making and receiving phone calls.

To experience 5G service, it must be provided in your area, you must have a capable phone, and be on a compatible AT&T unlimited plan. When in a congested location, you may experience an unstable connection to the network. If you're ever unsure what coverage is available near you just check using our wireless coverage map.

Allow us to offer a few recommendations that'll help get your voice feature functioning properly. First, reset your network settings to refresh your connection. Resetting the network restores the default settings on the device. Be aware, Bluetooth pairing and Wi-Fi settings are deleted and will need to be re-added. You will not lose data like pictures, videos, or text. From your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G go to: Settings>General Management>Reset>Reset network settings.

Next, visit our AT&T Wireless Support website and select Get Suggestions. You'll be directed to the Fix an Issue section. From there you will select your device then navigate back to that section and click Connection>Phone Calls. Then allow this tool to troubleshoot your device by following the prompts and you'll be presented with our top personalized solutions.

If you can receive a Wi-Fi connection, set up Wi-Fi Calling. Your phone uses Wi-Fi for calls and texts when cellular coverage isn’t available. This means that in a natural disaster or other emergency, your phone will work if it’s connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Also, learn about other ways your wireless service can be affected by reading our Forums article titled Dropped Calls & Low Signal - Solutions From The AT&T Community.

Review these goodies and let us know how they worked out for you. Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community!

@Kozi81 Firstnet couldnt help me. AT&T has pretty much blacklisted all unlocked samsung phones and unless you buy the phone from them, you are stuck. I switched to T-Mobiles Magenta Max which is T-Mobiles equivalent to Firstnet. Its $25 more than first net but so much better. I finally have 5G and my phone is working again. The fact that these AT&T "tech" and "experts" keep giving us bogus advice on how to fix the phones service problems is really irritating, when they know that the only fix is for us to buy our phone from AT&T.
