Samsung a71 5g offline with full LTE signal

I am in a populated area with 3-5 bars of LTE service on my brand new Samsung a71 5g.  I do not have wifi on.  When I try search using Google or google maps, I get an error that I am offline and results will be returned once I get an internet connection.  Results are always provided within 60 seconds but I never had this problem with my old LG phone.  Also waiting for a minute for directions can be really annoying.  This happens about half of the time, maybe a little more.  What is happening?

We can definitely help you with your cellular data connection, @karaecu1.

Your Samsung Galaxy A71 (SM-A716U) is a great 5G device and we want you to get the most out of it. We understand how hard it might be navigating with a 60 second delay.

Have you reported the network problem with the AT&T Mark the Spot app? If you please do. You can get the app off Google Play and its free to use. We'll provide in-app updates based on the reports you submit.

Try toggling your mobile data off then back on. You can find the switch when you swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the Settings icon. Go to Connections, then Mobile Networks. This is the simplest way to reset your signal connection and possibly improve your speed.

AT&T Device Support is a great reference tool. Please report the issue with the app, and try toggling your data off/on, then test your speed. Please let us know if that helps. Thank you!

I have the same problem, but it is with any google search.  I have reset my network settings, and it didn't help.

I have been in contact with various AT&T teams.  They've done hard network resets and changed my provisioning.  Nothing has worked.  They are trying to say I am in weak coverage  area & the device is fine.  I am extremely frustrated that it never happened with my 3 year old device and now it is a regular occurrence.

I recommend ruling out any network issues first.  Then request a warranty replacemen.    If your phone is less than 14 days old go, then to the store today and request a replacement device. I knew I had an issue but waited beyond the 14 days.  Had to jump thru lots of hoops for a warranty replacement because I did not go with my gut and return it immediately.

After weeks of working with AT&T, I got a warranty replacement samsung a71. I have the exact same issue with the new device within first 24 hours.    After some googling, I found a TMobile forum with people ranting about the same issue with this device.  It is a known issue with the Samsung a71 5g but I guess no one is telling at&t.  I recommend avoiding this device if possible.

Samsung Galaxy A71
Model SM-A716U
Android version 10

I have experienced this same issue and have found no rhyme or reason for when or where it happens. It seems to occur most frequently when doing a Google search. The first time it happened was within the first few hours of having my new phone.

I have found two 'work arounds'.

First Workaround
I turn off WiFi and then perform the search again and most of the time this works (just don't forget to turn WiFi back on when you get back to the location where you have the WiFi).

Second Workaround

If the first workaround doesn't work, try this...Go to Settings >> Connections >> Mobile Data and turn Allow 2G Service on then perform the search again. This seems to allow you to search. Just don't forget to switch 2G off again.

This issue seems to happen to me in different locations around the North Dallas / Plano area. It has happened on different days and at different times during the day. I stopped into an AT&T store one day right after it happened and of course, I couldn't get it to happen again.

Any hints on how to fix this would be appreciated.
