I experienced the same issue with my S22 Ultra, out of nowhere on Thursday February 8th. My wife has the same phone, on this network and does not have any issues. On Monday Feb 12, I went to the ATT store; they replaced 2 sim cards and finally used an ESIM. The phone worked while in the store. Later that night I again had no network connection. On Tuesday Feb 13, I went to the same ATT store. They reset the network settings, which I had done several times. They thought the 5G antenna was bad. I took it to a local repair shop. They did not thing it was the antenna because at times it would have connections to the network. The phone worked while in the store. Later that night I again had no network connection. I could use WIFI, but was unable to send or receive texts, calls, or access the internet or use apps. I had connections off and on. On Saturday Feb 17, I went to another ATT store. They reset my network through their computer system, The phone worked normal for several hours, then again, I had no connection. Tuesday Feb 20, I again went to the ATT store, they still had no solution, as I had tried all of the troubleshooting, including a factory reset. I then took it a local repair shop. I explained to him how the ATT store thought it was the 5G antenna. He again didn't think that was the issue. After diagnosing and looking into the matter, he determined that there was not an issue with the antenna. He called my wife's phone and said after some research and calls to other repair associates, that they came to the conclusion that the chip was bad on the motherboard, it cost $200, which it less than I own on this phone and way cheaper than a new one. As of now, I am waiting for the repair and to find out the results.

Reading this post I'm really happy I'm out of Samsung. Can't be AT&T, there are a lot of other people from Verizon and T-Mobile relating the same issue. Is Samsung's problem.

I'm using a Pixel 8 Pro with the same network and SIM card from my S22 and it's working like a charm.

Samsung's never more.

UPDATE Friday February 23rd. PHONE IS FIXED! As it turns out, it was not the chip after all. Through more research, the repairman discovered that the issue was the charging port. I had no issues with the phone charging, either at home with the super-fast charger, or in the car while connected to Android Auto. The final cost for the repair was $120.e

@formerlyknownas So, the results are in.  I just got a notice that my S22 Ultra is on its way back to me.  The email lists a bunch of codes that tell what they repaired:

Original Problem:
POWER - POWER - NO POWER AFTER UPGRADE (Note: I had power.  The phone worked fine when on wifi, just no access to the network.  I'm not sure why they stated NO POWER was a problem).

Problem found:
DISPLAY BURN-IN - NO PCS SERVICE (NO REGISTRATION) - PROCESS PART REPLACEMENT

Solution:
REPLACED LCD - REPLACED COMPONENT - REPLACED COSMETIC

Attached was a document with the

Parts replaced:

GH82-27700A LCD

GH82-29193A Flex Cable

GH82-27483B LCD

GH96-14558A Charging Port

Google searches on these codes indicate the Charging Port may have been malfunctioning, but looks like they replaced the motherboard too.  Also, that they may have damaged something when trying to open the device. Hmmm...

Can't wait until it is here so I can test it out. By the way, as I could not get a loaner phone, I ended up doing an upgrade to the S24 Ultra. I plan to hand the S22 to my mom as she could use a newer phone from her NOTE 9 which works well for her needs, but since the S22 Ultra will be back why not.

What a load of ... So are they diagnosing a bunch of stuff so that they can charge you for out of warranty work?  The way I look at it it's still their faulty hardware. Hardware that should not fail in 2 years..  😠

Hey,  new here.. tried commenting/responding to a couple of posts but only able to make my own post-  S22Ultra crazy stupid frustrating network/connection issues, tried all the things, nothing/no one has helped- same situation as many, for months...

..& here I come across an actual possible solution(!!!) Of replacing the antenna?!

I've attached the link for the post about this solution, & I have questions ! ) ..

*was the local shop that replaced the part NOT an at&t store?  If not, where can I go to get this done?

* Know anyone else thatxs had this done?

*Is your phone still working great? Has the solution held up??

If Anyone could shed some more light on this🙏  i'd like to get this done asap!!!  & spread the word!!!

AT&T does not repair phones. Full stop!

Phones have to be taken to a repair shop that is authorized by the manufacturer.  You should be able to find an authorized repair store through Samsung mobile USA. Or better yet deal directly with Samsung, ship the phone to them have them do the repair and ship it back. You will have to find your own temporary replacement phone.

* Know anyone else thatxs had this done?

There are several posts on this forum over the past few months for people who have had Samsung or a local cell phone repair store fix their phone.

The leg work from here on is on you. I recommend dealing directly with Samsung and insisting that they do the repair for just the cost of shipping. This is their cheap hardware that broke. Certainly on a $1,200 plus phone they should be responsible for warranty beyond 12 months when it's their poor manufacturing and cheap parts that are responsible for the phone's disconnection

By the way this is *not* an AT&T issue. You can find posts identical on other service providers. I just read one on Verizon yesterday.
