Question about unlock device

I created a request to unlock a phone I bought to use with a Mexican sim but I have not received the code yet, can I cancel the request? I want to return the phone so they can exchange it for another one.

It doesn't matter whether you cancel the unlock request or not, if you want to return the phone because of false advertisement, just return the phone.

There's no need to complicate things by involving a T and T who will probably deny the unlock request anyway. It has no effect whatsoever on one of the phone is returnable.

1.  AT&T will not unlock a phone that is within the first 14 days of purchase and the return period anyway.

2.  If you are within the first 14 days, there's nothing stopping you from returning the phone as long as you have all of the correct packaging material that came with it, receipt, etc.

It is a phone bought in the amazon renewed section, it said that the phone came unlocked for any sim but it is not, and once I noticed it I asked for the unlocking at at&t and I still have not received the code, amazon told me that I could change the phone and that is my doubt if I can cancel the unlocking request.
