Phone Unlock

I went through the process on the website, giving the acc info and iemi or whatever that thing is, now when reading the email it says I need a non-AT&T sim card?! I don't have that, is it the only way or can I go to the store and they can help me further or am I legit utterly (Edited per community guidelines)ed til then.
