Phone trade in

I received an email on 4/22/22 that my trade in phone had been received and process. I have heard nothing more nor received a payment. Approximately how long does this process take once they have received it? Thank you

We'll be happy to assist you with the status of your device trade-in @keating82.

It generally takes 2-3 billing cycles after a trade-in is processed for it to reflect on your bill. Given that your trade-in was received and processed in late April, you're likely to see it on your next statement.

For further assistance with your trade-in, you can reach the trade-in department at 1-888-445-6005. They are available weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM CST and weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns!

I signed up for the trade-in program in January of 2020. I was also told it takes a few billing cycles to receive my credit. After 4 or 5 cycles I began to call customer service. Was always transferred 2-3 times with the last person I talked with promising to check into my problem and call me back.  I never got a callback, nor did I receive reembursement as promised.  I finally just gave up.  The trade-in program may work for some but for me, it was a scam.

@Drr004 It’s probably too late now but you shouldn’t have given up. You could have and should have escalated to corporate by filing an FCC or BBB complaint. In fact, if you have any proof of those other calls, it might still not be too late.

Sandblaster, thanks for your comments.  You are probably right - it is too late for me.  But I have learned it is never too late to do the right thing.  Maybe an AT&T employee would be willing to check into to my problem, who knows?

@Drr004

   Why the credits never happen:

1.  Phone was mailed into the wrong place, back to AT&T instead of Tennessee and hyla Mobile recycler.

2.   No qualified unlimited plan, with a base price of $75 or more.

3.   Phone was still under installments.

4.   Phone wasn't a qualified trade.

5.   Phone didn't meet minimum value.

6.  Didn't buy with installments.
