Thank you for the update @Bev3kids.

 

There are several possible reasons why the phone may not recognize it.  It could be hardware related in which the SIM cardholder and reader is loose, so it doesn’t hold it in place. Issue may be SIM card related.  Have you tried inserting another SIM card? 

  • The other option is it could be software related.  If you need to order a SIM, you can order a SIM online and follow the prompts, order here, or get one within an AT&T Corporate store.
  • Update your Devices Software to ensure the device has the latest software and features. You must connect your device to Wi-Fi to download the update.

There are some self-service troubleshooting steps to try as well.  Please feel free to visit our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool. Here, you choose your Phone Manufacturer > then choose your Device > under Device/Software issues, please choose SIM Card.  Here, you can follow a troubleshooting flow to determine the best resolution for your device.

 

If the device is still unable to read the SIM card, we encourage you to review your device's warranty and device protection options. You can also find out how to fix or replace it. You can also track your AT&T device protection or warranty options by clicking "Fix Now".

  1. Is this a new device and sim? If it isnt a new SIM, has it worked previously?
  2. Are you seeing any bars on your device at the top? This will help us determine if the SIM card is registering in the device

2 months ago

Same phone and same sim card for 2 years now. Samsung note 10+. there are network bars. Tried airplane mode, restarting phone, removing sim card, clearing cache and data. Still nothing. I can use wifi only.
