Only receiving half of a text message from sender

My boyfriend sent me a message last night and again today and I have only received half of the messages. I have not had this issue until yesterday afternoon. We both have Samsung devices. I have the Galaxy S9 and I'm not sure which Galaxy he has as he just got a new one (I think it's an S9, too). Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

We'd be more than happy to take a closer look into this issue that you're experiencing with your text messages. When you say that you're only receiving half of a text message, what do you mean exactly? Also, does this issue only occur with one of your contacts, or are you experiencing this with multiple phone numbers? Please let us know. We look forward to hearing back from you.

The message being sent to me gets broken up into separate messages and I'm not getting all the parts. The message being sent isn't even long but stills gets broken up. So I might not get the first part of the message or I might not get the second or third part of the message. As of right now, it has only happened with one of my contacts, that I know of.
