Note 9 Problems with Bluetooth after Pie update

I updated my Galaxy Note 9 to Android Pie but I'm having huge issues with BlueTooth connectivity to my car

After the update, my phone will connect just fine when I start the Car but after a while it losses the connection altogether, both Phone and Car suddenly don't see the BT connections, after a couple of minutes if left alone the phone will connect again and again after some time it will drop connection (its not always the same amount of time but always within 10 minutes of being connected)

This makes my phone unusable in my car as it has happened several times during calls and I stop hearing people and have to fumble with the phone to put it in speaker mode to at least continue the call. It's also very annoying when I'm listening to Music or other feedback from apps like Maps and suddenly lose connection.

I have seen other People complaining of the same problem in Android forums and with different Car models so I don't think its a problem exclusively to a Car Brand. I have tried clearing BT data and cache, deleted and re-pair of BT with Car, and even changing BT AVRCP version in dev options but nothing helps. The only thing left to try is a factory reset of the phone but I saw people commenting on other forums that did not work either so hesitant to do as its a major pain.

Can someone confirm if this is a known issue and any posible workaroaund or ETA for a fix?

Let's look into that for you, @JcMarin!

Before performing alternate device resets, try resolving your experience by resetting the network settings:

  • From the Home screen, access the apps screen by swiping up or down from the center of the display.
  • Select the Settings icon, then General Management, then Reset.
  • Select Reset Network Settings then tap Reset following the displayed information.
  • If prompted, enter your PIN, password, or pattern to continue.
  • Finally, select Reset to confirm your choice.

Afterwards, perform a soft reset of your device and check whether you're able to successfully maintain a connection between your device and vehicle.

We hope this info helps!

There is a big problem with the Note 9 Pie update. Attempting to open the Lock Screen from the Always On Display freguently results showing the LS but then returning to the AOD. After 2 or 3 more attempts, the LS will finally respond and allow the Samsung launcher to perform. Occassionally, a message appears "Samsung Experience is not responding. Close the App or Wait. Frustrating indeed.
