Not getting any missed call notifications and calls going directly to voicemail

Recently, I've noticed that my phone doesn't ring when someone calls me and goes directly to voicemail. The weird thing is that when my family calls me, my phone does ring and I am able to receive their calls. But when I get a call from my doctor's office, pharmacy, dentist, etc, I only get a voicemail notification. I have checked my settings several times. The call forwarding is turned off and I don't have any blocked numbers. I reached out to samsung but they told me to contact at&t. Is there an internal issue with my device because I've never had this issue with my previous samsung phones.

We definitely understand the importance of getting calls on your device. Let's take a look at why you're unable to receive incoming calls and why they go straight to voicemail!

 

If your device is a 4G/5G device and is compatible on our network, here are some troubleshooting steps for your call service:

  1. Turn off your device for 15 seconds and turn it back on to reset your device.  
  2. Turn off your Airplane Mode, Call Forwarding and Do Not disturb or Quiet Hours settings as these settings interfere with making/receiving calls. 

If this does not help, let us know your device make and model so we can provide personalized troubleshooting steps. 

 

If you have the AT&T Call Protect app check to make sure that call block is not turned on. This feature may be sending callers to your voicemail.

 

You can also check the Announce Calls setting. To go there, navigate to Settings > Phone > Announce Calls > Make sure it's set to Always. Let us know if this helps!
