Is there a way to relock keys of Rugby III (A997) after it is powered on?

I know that I can set a password that must be entered when powering the phone on, but is there any way to lock the keys while the phone is still on? Closing the phone protects the keys from accidentally being pressed but does not prevent someone from opening the phone and using it. It would be nice to be able to lock the keys manually so that anyone trying to use the phone would first need to enter the password.

Greetings @gepard,

This is a very interesting query! Thanks for coming by the Community Forums to look into this further. I can definitely help out!

I completed some research on the Samsung Rugby III, and it doesn’t look like there is an option to lock the keys. However, the screen lock password should be sufficient enough to protect your device!

I do hope you found this informative. Thank you so much and have a great day!

Well, Portia, I got all excited by your mention of a "screen lock password"  and spent a lot of time searching for it. I read the entire user's manual twice and found absolutely nothing called a "screen lock password". Did you perhaps mean the "phone lock password" that must be entered whenever the phone is powered on? I already use that and it DOES NOT solve my problem. If the phone is on and the password has been entered, there is no way to prevent someone who might get their hands on the phone (i.e. steal it) from using it. I'd like to be able to travel with my phone powered on and able to receive calls without having to worry about someone using it if they take it.  Any help?

Hi there @gepard!

Thank you for your prompt response regarding your phone lock issue. I will be glad to re-clarify some details I found out about your device.

Please excuse my misinterpretation, in regards to the phone lock password I was referring to the current lock feature you are using which unlocks the phone upon startup. At this time, there is not an alternate lock situation for your device.

I hope this clears up your issue. Please let us know if you have any alternate questions or concerns. Have an amazing day!
