How to STOP automatic AT&T Software Updates??

Everytime I cut on my Wifi, there is an update on my Note 5 that automatically starts to download.  To ensure that it doesn't happen, I have to turn off my wifi...I'm having to stay on data.  It's not a huge issue beause I have unlimited data, but not having the ability to use wifi because I don't want a auto-update sucks.  I've read that the latest update affects battery levels negatively and I don't want that.  Does anyone know how to disable or get around this?
