How do I unlock phone using ATT sim card

I want to unlock my phone, got the unlock code but don't want to leave att.  Do I need a non att sim to do that and if I do use a non att sim, can I then just return my att sim card to my phone and it will work normally without losing anything?

You don't need to worry about switching sim cards or anything .open your phone app, manually dial #7465625*638*# you should then be prompted to input your unlock code. 

 

Note: don't copy and paste the number I gave you, as it will not work. You must type it in.

I am with T-Mobile and switching to att but the sim card from att does not work in my Samsung s8+ its

invalid

@ALOHA25 You need to contact T-Mobile for the unlock code.

Can I use my activated phones sim card on my new samsung J3 emerge? I still have 2 weeks left of service that broke on my old phones  pre pay accout ?

Every phone’s dial pad has a # and * on it.
