Galaxy S9 Active Release Date

Hi, was wondering if anyone had any updates on when the Samsung Galaxy S9 Active is finally going to be released. We had updates on it 2 months ago and that was about it. They've been talking about it and possible releases as far back as March I think. I'm hoping they release it this month sometime. If anyone has any news, even rumor updates on it, please let me know, thanks!

If you take a look at release dates for the previous active phones they usually aren't available until at least the end of August. Myself personally have been gritting my teeth waiting for confirmation I can't wait to see the upgrade

Yeah, when I got my s7 active, I saw leaks of photos and such way before it came out. I really hope they didn't cancel it due to poor sales of the s9. I mean, if the last few releases have been good sellers, then why cancel a good thing just because a totally different line of phones aren't selling well. I hope they realize some people are waiting on a active just for the battery and the flat screen. I would hate to have to determine what phone I would have to get if it does not become available. I can't stand the curved edge display that all samsungs have now.

The s8 active got sold by tmo and Sprint because sales were so bad with the s8 active. Less than 1.5 million units of you believe the blogs.

I love the active series!  S4 active all the way through S8 active, I've owned and/or used them all. They're very durable and rugged. That's what I need for the line of work I do. I really hope they come out with the S9 active. I've been loyal to the active series and would hate to jump ship.

I’m with you there, I hate curved screens and love the high end features in a phone with a great battery. I don’t need it to be paper thin, I need it to last all day with heavy use. I do wish they would make it with a removable battery though, I’m tired of spending big money for disposable phones. When it comes down to it, if I can’t get a new active I’ll get something much cheaper next time. Have tried a couple of Huawei phones and was very impressed what you can get for much less money.

Jump ship for what?  If there is no S9 active, there is no where to go.  If you need rugged, there are other rugged phones sold by ATT.  The Sonim phones even have Wifi calling.

They can’t make a removable battery AND make it water and dust proof.  It’s also what allows the bigger battery.

The S4 active had a removable battery and I still have that phone. It did just fine in water. It's just outdated now. And what I mean by jumping ship is not owning an active. I've been looking at the S9+. I use my phone mainly for pictures and gaming.

Gaming.... My son has the Razer phone on ATT.  Now that’s a phone for gamers.  Takes good video and photos too.  Speakers are LOUD.

Unless you need Wifi calling, shop outside the box.

No the s4 actives seals broke down if you opened and closed the back of the phone to much..  The s5 had that problem and that is why we now have sealed phones which I for one love.
