Galaxy S7 unroot after using dr. fone

I have a Galaxy S7 running Android version 7 (Nougat). I used dr. fone with my Windows 10 PC to try to retrieve some lost files. The retrieval failed and now my phone is screwed up. I keep getting a notification from the SecurityAgentLog that "Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes." Yes, I've restarted. No, it hasn't helped.

I also am not able to use fingerprint authentication to log in or use visual voicemail, just to name a few functional losses.

I have reset my phone to factory defaults. There has been no change.

I have downloaded various versions of Odin and the firmware to return to stock, with the help of this tutorial https://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-s7-unroot/, but the attempt never succeeds.

I have installed the SuperSU app to try to unroot. It doesn't detect a root at all.

So, it appears that the third-party app, dr. fone, partially rooted my phone.

I cannot find a way to unroot from this state.

Also, I now have the icon shown in the attached image in the status bar. It was not there before all of this happened.

Help?

Thanks!

Hello @kitkat31765,

At this time you would have to contact Samsung.  They might be able to flash the phone back to the original software for you.

Samsung can be reached at 1-800-725-7864.  You can also visit their webpage www.samsung.com.

Samsung has already told me that I'm on my own. They consider the phone
'rooted' and, therefore, no longer their problem. The phone is now
completely useless and is flashing at the Samsung start-up screen.

My husband and I have insurance on our phones through AT&T. How do I get my
phone replaced with this insurance program?

Thanks for your time

Good morning @kitkat31765,

Whenever you need to file an insurance claim for one of your devices, you would need to contact Asurion.  You can file your claim online at www.phoneclaim.com/att.
