Galaxy S5 Rings Silently (Even with Sound/Ringer On)
I just received this phone through my company on Monday and did the usual setup of preferences, sounds, and volumes. Now, when a call comes in, I can see it on the screen, but the phone does not make sound. Text messages, emails, et cetera all alert, but not my ringtone.
I have tried all the 'simple' stuff (like verifying my ring volume was actually up, ringtone is not set to 'silent', no Bluetooth on, restarting, battery pull, et cetera).
Has anyone else had this issue? Is it fixable?

Fixed it.
Solution: I disabled the Samsung Apps and that was causing the problem. I reenabled it, did a battery pull, and all is right with the universe again.

Forgot to mention that it doesn't ring when the phone is in vibrate mode, either, even though other alerts function.

That's a new one. When you change the ringtone to a different tone in settings, does the selected tone actually play?

That's one I hadn't tried. When I did try just now, it did not help. 😕

At the risk of sounding technically challenged (of which I am), how do I identify the Samsung Apps, disable and pull battery?
Sorry!!!
