Galaxy Note 8 still doesn't have Android 8

Why do I still not have android Oreo on my galaxy note 8? I called ATT's extremely incompetent technical support who could hardly even speak English, and after 20 mins says to me "so you're having problems making calls?" I Said no, I've told you 4 times already that I cannot get any software updates. Then he proceeded to tell me that Samsung has to do that and ATT doesn't release updates. I ended the call.

Hi @Magpul720,

Thank you for reaching out to us today. We'll be delighted to assist you.

Are you trying to download the update over Wifi? Do you have enough free space on your device (the 9.0 update is 214 MB)? Is your device originally from AT&T or did you port it in? With more details, we'll have a better idea of how to proceed.

The phone was factory reset, and it still wouldn't update. I took it to a repair center, they updated it for me. They said it's most likely because I'm on a pay as you go service and that it will most likely happen again.

Hi @Magpul720!

We're glad to hear that you were able to get your device updated!

Our prepaid plans do not affect the ability to update the software on your device, as that is something that is handled by the device manufacturer, not the service carrier.

If you have issues with the software update again, please feel free to reach back out to us, or contact Samsung customer support.

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Samsung releases the updates to the carrier and then the carrier releases them to its customers. So it's on ATT to get the updates to me! (And everyone else)
