Not sure what $50 discount you are referring to but discounts on prepaid phones generally are only available on new activations, not existing lines.

If that's true, then "Our best deals are for everyone. Both new and existing customers get our best smartphone deals." may not be true?

That ad is for postpaid customers, not prepaid.
