I'm running Touchwiz right now from factory reset.. haven't made any settings changes at all. Now this thread is looking hokey.

I JUST did a factory reset, no settings changes, just opened factory browser, went straight to this site. Incredibly slow still and I bet it will compretty (see? issues with typing and spellchecker) overheat if I do another reset. It sounds like an old hard drive spinning up when restarting, isn't it supposed to be some kind of SSD? Help me, I don't want to go back to best buy. I hate riding the subway 🙂

It's a regular s7. Are the other people with problems also on regular s7's?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 that I got from AT&T and got it unlocked later. I am not getting this OTA or any OTA from AT&T. Everytime I check for update, it says "Current software is up to date."

The Android security patch level says "February 1, 2016" and build number is: "MMB29M.G930AUCS2APC2".

Any suggestions on how to get the recent updates?

Then you wont get updates.  ATT only updates phones connected to the ATT network since they have a IMEI check to make sure it on the network.

Now you can take the phone to a samsung experience center inside a best buy and have them flash it for you.

@GLIMMERMAN76 - Thank you very much.

I guess that is the price for paying full price to get the phone. AT&T Sucks!!!!!!!

Couple of questions regarding getting the phone flashed.

1. Will the data on the phone gets cleared, when flashed?

2. Will I get stock ROM, instead of AT&T modified ROM, if I get it flashed?

@Dyno_guy

You paid full price for a carrier branded phone what did you expect?  Most of the carriers are doing these things now.  The cant lock the phones for use but they dont have to update them either.

I would backup your device before you go.

No you will still get the ATT rom since its the ATT model.  Now I will say over at XDA there is a way to flash the 930U image to the 930A.  I have done it.  You will end up with an unlocked us version of the s7.
