change request unlock email information

I recently bought an att galaxy fold from a cellphone shop, and it was locked, the owner said he would help me unlock it and I only need to wait for a couple of hours. The day after I asked him and he said it not ready yet, it has been a few days already and he ignored me. So I go to the att website to unlock it myself but it said the IMEI has already submitted a request and it won't allow me to access it. The question is can I change the unlock request to my email? and what happens if it already processed but the shop owner doesn't give me the code to unlock, can I still request a different one or how can I obtain it?  I saw there are a lot of unlocking service on the internet, can they help with the unlock if it already requested?
