Can't Switch Between 5G and 4G/LTE

I just got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S24+ today. I live in an area with poor reception, so I usually switch my phones to only use 4G because it still works pretty well. For some reason, and it did the same on my last phone (S20 FE), I cannot turn off the 5G standalone mode so I can have somewhat decent service. Is there any way I can at least set the S24+ to switch between 4G and 5G like my old phone did?

Nope. Not anymore.  AT&T purposely hides the "Network Mode" in settings, but an app was able to unhide it.

Samsung has blocked the ability to unhide the page with the app in the OS itself on AT&T insistence.

We can definitely answer your question about 4G-5G connectivity @Ivan_Gray

We recommend switching the network from 5G to 4G by:

  1. Navigate to Settings>Connctions>Mobile Networks.
  2. Select Network Mode.
  3. You should see different network modes here. Select LTE/3G/2G (auto connect from the list.
  4. This will disable 5G connectivity on your Galaxy S21, S22, or S23 and limit connectivity to 4G LTE or lower networks.
  5. You can also set your Galaxy smartphone to only connect to 4G networks. Select the LTE only option from the network menu.

When the "Preferred Network setting" is hidden, it's usually the carrier that does that as soon as it connects to the mobile network.

There is an app in the Google Play Store called "Samsung Band Selection" that will un-hide that page in Settings.

@ATTHelp Natasha.

Not anymore.

I looked at what the new workaround involved, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle.
