Can't install AT&T Mobile Security

I have an S20 and when I try to update AT&T Mobile Security I get this error

It says Can't install AT&T Mobile Security.

Is the S20 not compatible with it yet?

I wanted to update because the Safe Browsing VPN won't allow any data. It blocks off all connections.

Hey there @Tre_Smooth!


Let's look into that installation notification for you. Make sure you check the app profile in your favorite app store to see if AT&T Mobile Security is compatible with your device.


If so, then follow these steps to update it from the app store:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Find your running apps and tap Google Play.
  3. Tap Clear Cache and then Force stop.
  4. Search for the AT&T Mobile Security app in Play Store.
  5. Tap Update.

If that didn't work, try clearing your settings:

  1. Tap Settings then Application manager/Apps.
  2. Scroll to the All section and tap Google Services. (It may say Google Services Framework, Google Connectivity Services, or Google Play Services.)
  3. Tap Clear Data and then Force Stop.
  4. Go back to the list of apps under your device settings and select Google Play Store.
  5. Tap Clear Data, then Force Stop.
  6. Turn your phone off and back on. (This is important!)
  7. Open the Play Store and try updating the AT&T Mobile Security app again.

Thanks but this didn't work for me. It still won't install the update or allow connectivity through the smart browsing VPN.

@ATTHelp forget about this solution, I did all this and more and it's not working, I have a Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G (AT&T branded) and for some reason your VPN block all connections, WiFi and Data Mobile as well, this needs a big FIX or update.


I can't update the update in the Play Store as well.


Any soon solution for this? I am paying the Plus month to month.

Hey mine started working after an OTA update released for my S20 Ultra. I bought the phone on release and I guess it just wasn't compatible with the app yet. After updating my phone everything started working again and it let me update the security app in the Play Store.


Go to Settings > Software Update 

That worked for me.
