Can I bring my phone from Boost Mobile to AT&T?

I am currently with Boost Mobile, using a Samsung Galaxy S4, and am thinking about changing services. Would I be able to use my current phone with AT&T, or would I have to get a new one?

Hi there! @Traska thanks for posting your question and interest in AT&T service. You can verify compatibility of your Boost Mobile phone by visiting us online at https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/byop.html then enter your device make and model or IMEI number.

Hope this helps!

I don't see a 15 or 17 digist IMEI on the back of the LG Stylus Boost phone I purchased.  I see a 14 digit MEID Hex No. or a 18 digit MEDI DEC no.  What does this mean, how do I use this phone with my ATT line?

 Hey @marcyc_76

Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums! I can help you with this!

MEID’s are commonly associated with CDMA devices (phones that don’t use SIM cards). IMEI’s are associated with GSM devices (phones that use SIM cards). Here at AT&T we use GSM devices. Most CDMA phones are not compatible on a GSM networks, however there are some that are compatible. If the device has a bay for a SIM card that’s a good start.

To be able to identify if your device has an IMEI you can dial *#06# on the phone, a pop-up will appear with the IMEI/MEID number. Entering that number in our Bring Your Own Phone webpage will let you know if the device is compatible with our network.

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any further questions!

Boost Mobile is a tricky carrier when it comes to bringing your own device. If you’re trying to bring your own phone to Boost, the first thing to remember is that they run on the Sprint network.

@ElizabethTello Sure you can switch but your phone won’t work on ATT until it is unlocked and Boost won’t unlock it until it’s paid off.
