AT&T Smartphone White List:Samung A71-5G SM-A716U

Why is this not on the Whitelist? Is`nt it not the same model as the A71-5G A716U   which is on the White List? Someone please clear this up .because I can get a Samsung A71-5G SM-A716U on line for a good price, and I want to know if ATT&T white list goofed or thought it wasn`t important to list the A71-5G as SM-A716U

According to the list, a Samsung A71-5G SM-A716U must be the AT&T version, or US open market version.

You can check the IMEI on Cricket to see if it will work on AT&T.

when you say must be AT&T version does that mean unlocked or locked to AT&T network? see I have LifeWireless service and they use AT&T network towers so if I buy a samsung phone that is locked to AT&T then it should work on their network?

It doesn't matter. And AT&T branded device is 'branded' forever , it doesn't matter whether you have unlocked it or not.

Again it doesn't matter to AT&T but it may matter to life Wireless. If you are using an mvno you have to ask them what phones work and don't work, because they may run under different rules.

For example AT&T and Cricket will accept iPhone 6 and newer. But there are some mvnos that require iPhone 7 or newer.

Each mvno is a separate business, not owned by AT&T, except cricket, which is entirely At&t.
