Activate temporary phone while Samsung performing a Warranty Fix
I have a rainbow dot on my Fold 3 that is covered by the warranty.
I want to buy a used or refurb phone for the 2 weeks it will be at the manufacturer.
Do I need to buy a phone that works with ATT or can I buy an unlocked phone?

We can definitely answer that question for you.
We would recommend purchasing an AT&T branded device so you will be guaranteed that all carrier provided features work correctly at all times.
However, unlocked cell phones in general work with AT&T as well, so you can absolutely purchase one if you decide to do so.

Of course you need to buy a phone that works with ATT, that applies whether it’s unlocked or not. You need to buy a phone that is on ATT’s supported phones list. ATT will not activate a phone not on the list.
