4lte verses 5g

My S22 Ultra switches back and forth from 4lte to 5g.  Get ok service in 4lte and none in 5g. Phone is sometimes not recognized in 5g and says can only make emergency calls.  Network operators link is grayed out so I can't switch bands manually.  Can't get it figured out.  Anyone else have this problem?  Phone is only 5 most old.  Is there such a thing as a 4lte Sim card I can switch out?  Any help would be appreciated.  Right now I'm paying for Premium service but only getting to use about 50% of it.

Next time you get the no service warning because you've moved to 5G flick your airplane mode on wait about 5 seconds and then switch it off again. This should connect your phone to service

Switching back and forth with Airplane mode works but only for a short then switched back to 5G and no service.

Could be that 5G is just not strong enough in your area or the towers are at capacity. Just leave your phone on LTE only. 5G in our area is not reliable so we just leave our phones on LTE all of the time with no issues.

I downloaded the Samsung Band Selector to keep it on 4lte.  That didn't work very well...very slow.  I can't manually switch my phone to 4 lte with the embedded place on Network Operators.   It's grayed out so can't use it.  I think I'm screwed.

Is that the only band selector option? Maybe it's just poorly written.

OttoPylot.  Would a cell booster work if I only have cellular service?  There isn't any wifi coming into my house.

@Cay  Not sure what you mean about not having any WiFi coming into your home. The Cell Booster needs a wired internet connection (DSL, cable, or fiber). WiFi has nothing to do with the Cell Booster. The CB will broadcast an LTE signal that your phone connects to and that signal then uses your internet connection to reach the AT&T Mobility servers.

To register and activate the Cell Booster you need to have a land based internet service, a post paid AT&T cellular account, and a phone that meets AT&T's LTE requirements.

The CB is a femtocell, it is not a cellular booster. The naming was for marketing purposes because most folks have an idea what a cellular booster is but haven't a clue what a femtocell is. That being said, the incoming cellular signal has nothing to do with the functionality of the cell booster. Read my Cell Booster Guide to get a detailed explanation of how the cell booster works, setup , and troubleshooting.

OttoPylot.

I guess I used the wrong term.  I don't have a landline phone.  No wired internet service. I read your Guide.  Most of it is way over my head.  I was hoping the cell booster could be a stand-alone service that would give me a boost with my cellular service.  If my phone wouldn't jump into the 5G mode and stay in  4 lte then all would be well.  Phone won't allow me to manually keep it there.

Thanks for all your info.
