3G is not working on Note 3 SM-N900A in Pakistan on Ufone, Mobilink etc.
I have got Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900A), every thing is working fine but 3g is not working on UFONE and other networks because there is no "Network Mode" in Network Options to select WCDMA, kindly guide me how it will work or how to enable WCDMA? Does this cell support WCDMA Band? I have changed by *#2263# but network signals droped on changing. kindly help me

Hello @a_inayat,
I’m sorry to hear that your Note 3 is not having a reliable network connection with your current provider.
The Note 3 you are trying to use, is it an unlocked device?
Depending on which brand your phone is will determine which network settings are available to change. I would recommend that you contact Ufone to ensure that the APN settings are correct for their network.
Thank you,
Charise

Thanx for your tesponse, I have contact ufone, they said there is issue in AT&T software which is blocking 3G services, they advise me to visit Galaxy service center and change the rom. I have updated to lollipop but still facing same problem, I have also check Mobilink's sim and same pro.

samsung can only update the phone with ATT's software. So you are still stuck. Sell the phone and get an unlocked one thats not carrier branded. There is nothing ATT is going to do for you since your not a customer.

If your phone is capable of connecting to UFONE's 3G network, it will be their network that has that information, not ATT.

You need to contact your local carrier for the APN settings NOT ATT.
The phone is unlocked, it has the same bands as T mobile, so it's the APN settings which need to be entered manually. ATT can't help you connect to another network.

I have had the same experience with the same At&T branded Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A. I've concurred that it is IMPOSSIBLE to unlock this device to work on any mode higher than EDGE (GSM or 2G) that isn't AT&T signal and AT&T SIM. I have Fully rooted my phone after having to disable the bootloader (using Safestrap and rooting with towelroot) and it made no difference!
I can insert any SIM (I am in Papua New Guinea using Digicel PNG) and in my other Note 3 which is a ROOTED) SM-N9002 the SIM works fine. I can select any network mode that is available... When I insert the SAME Digicel PNG SIM into this supposedly 'unlocked' and fully rooted SM-N900A AT&T branded Galaxy Note 3, it ONLY sees GSM (EDGE / 2G) and 'Network mode' option is not even available. Totally locked away and inaccessible.
I also tried changing the mode by using the phone app and special Samsung dialling codes (which open hidden menus where you can select GSM only, WCDMA only, automatic etc.), but it had no effect. Still always locked on GSM only.
The codes are: with SIM removed: *#2263#
With SIM inserted: *#*#4636#*#*
BUYER BEWARE: these phones are not really 'unlocked'.
If you only want to use the phone only for phone calls and sms messaging or, you will only ever use wifi (NOT MOBILE DATA) to connect to the Internet, these phones are probably satisfactory for the purpose.
BUT...
If you need the phone (as I do), for connecting to the Internet via 3G or LTE mobile data, FORGET IT!
The only place you'll be able to do that is in the USA where AT&T service (WCDMA 3G / 4G LTE) is available and you have an AT&T SIM inserted in the phone.
The SM-N900A is STRICTLY an AT&T branded (and locked) device.
Unless you reside in the USA and are happy to subscribe to AT&T: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on one of these BRICKS!
