Turning off AT&T monthly notifications.

Trying to turn off monthly pre-paid notifications. There are two 1.) notification of your bill, for a pre-payed account. 2.) notification your bill was paid. Times the number of phones on the account.

I don’t need nor want these notifications.

Hello @gpalm3r, we'd be glad to assist you. Unfortunately, prepaid notifications cannot be disabled at this time. Thanks for reaching out to us.

There are way too many repeat messages -- first that the prepaid payment will come out on whatever date -- more than one text notification for both phone numbers.  Then for payment successfully paid -- more than once for both phone numbers.  One was at 3:00 this morning -- it woke my husband up.  SHUT THESE OFF!!!  It's ridiculous.

deb3554 I totally agree, it is such a pain in the butt to get a text and an email when you post the payment and then another one when it comes out of your bank.  They need to give you an option of one or the other.  And I know I made the payment why tell me repeatedly.

gpalm3r I agree, and I know we're not the only ones that hate this crap.  Maybe AT&T should give us the option to say 'STOP NOTIFICATIONS' thru text and see how many customers do that.  That's the only way they are going to know how many people they (Edited per community guidelines) off every month...!!!

A couple suggestions, depending on the phone.

One, if the phone allows it, is a Do not disturb mode.  Though for a trucker, sleep time is probably too variable for that to help.

Another is if you can do a ring tone to the number from ATT.  If you can choose a silent one, then that should help.

kevink, the problem is there is no set time for these texts, as for the Do Not Disturb Mode, you still have to deal with this later to get rid of it, and they come in on random numbers, because I've even tried Blocking them. They need to give the customer an option, not force it on us they way they do.  My issue is I get text alerts and email alerts because of my job, and I hate more than anything wasting my time with stupid stuff that you can't stop.

I didn't remember that the numbers were not consistent.  My only ATT prepaid right now is for my iPad plan, and I'm used to deleting them right away so hadn't noticed.

Another possibility might be to set the default ringtone to silent, and assign a different one to people in the contacts?

Often a feature to the majority hurts a minority.
