Travelling to the US for Denmark and need (probably) a prepaid sim-card
Hi,
I'm travelling from Denmark to California for a three week roadtrip. I would like to have a sim-card with unlimited data usage. According to our travelagent, it would be cheaper for me to buy it in Denmark, but that makes absolutely no sense to me. What I need is probably a prepaid sim-card, but not sure how to get one, and the price as I only need it for 1 month. Having trouble finding an emailadress to support, and can't get though via the phone-number provided. I'm starting in San Francisco (Fishermann's Wharf) and would like, if it was possible to pick up a prepaid card in one of the AT&T-stores. Can anyone please help? Other solutions are also welcome :-).
Regards, Kenny

@Kenny2076 the whitelist hasn't been updated since November, but it can be found here: https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/pdf/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf
Essentially, any iPhone since the 6.
ATTHelp's response is the opposite of what you are asking for.

First, ATT has a restrictive whitelist for phones. If the specific model isn't supported, the SIM will be a waste of money.

Hi kevink
Thanks for your reply. Have both an Iphone 12 and 13. I guess both are supported. Great to be aware of this but the question more relates to if i just go into an AT&T-store and buy a prepaid sim-card with an unlimited amount of data for a month or do I have to pre-order a card etc.

I just didn't want you to waste time/money with unsupported phone.
ATT won't ship cards overseas, so you will have to get it in the US. Make sure you do NOT sign up for autopay, since it can be difficult to cancel when you leave the states.

And much appreciated - hopefully they tell me if it isn't supported before I pay :-P. I can't find a list with supported phones however.
As I understand from their homepage they have an offer for 65 dollars without autopay (thanks for the tip) which I think is the product I need. Can they handle this in the stores?

Good morning, @Kenny2076. These are great questions to ask in advance of travelling!
While AT&T does not offer prepaid SIMs, we do have two prepaid international add-ons that you may want to check out:
If these add-ons don't fit your needs, you may also want to check out our International Day Pass.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. And thank you for being a part of AT&T Community and Forums.

Thanks for the link kevink and thanks for you response to the “ATTHelp's response”.
Don’t understand why they say they don’t offer prepaid sim-cards, as they have different options on their homepage…?
However kevink, your best guess, do you think I just can go to a store and buy a prepaid simcard, get it right away, plug it in my phone and my worries are over (concerning data usage that is) - your best guess? Thanks once again.
regards, Kenny

You need to make sure your phone is unlocked.
