Thinking of switching to prepaid

Please let me know if there is a downside here/if i'm miscalculating:-)

I have 3 lines on AT&T Unlimited & More which is the cheaper unlimited with lower quality streaming and no hot spot.  My billing works out to $58 a month per phone (with all taxes/fees).  I am thinking of changing to AT&T prepaid because of their current promotion on the unlimited plans ($20 off on the $65 & $85 unlimited plans with auto pay)
https://www.att.com/prepaid/index.html
(right now, their calculator on that page is only giving the $10 autopay discount, not the $20 promotion one).

I'm looking at changing two of our phones to the $45 plan and one to $65 (want the hot spot back on one phone).  I "chatted" with a rep about prepaid taxes and fees and they told me i'd only have to pay a couple dollars extra per month per phone with taxes.

In addition to the autopay discount it looks like I'd also get a multi line discount ($20 for 3 lines I think).  So

$45+$45+$65-$20 = $135 a month or $45 + taxes so say $47 per line per month total is what I expect to see.

GAIN
- hot spot back (one line)

- about $11 cheaper per line per month ($33 a month saving)

LOSS
- AT&T WatchTV.

KEEP/NO CHANGE

- can use phone and data while visiting Canada

- unlimited with lower quality streaming

Hello @Petermn

Thank for the post.

We appreciate you sharing the service breakdown and cost comparison. You have highlighted value for both AT&T Wireless, & AT&T PREPAID services. To move forward converting your AT&T Wireless account to AT&T PREPAID please visit an AT&T Retail location.

We hope this helps.

@Petermn

Tax per line would be as they are now, not less, if that was implied.

No HD voice, no Visual voicemail unless you have iPhone.

No Wifi calling.

No installment upgrade option.  No insurance.

No roaming other than Mexico and Canada (no day pass or passport)

Reduced coverage, check the map.

 I get a base price of $155. 65 + 45 + 45 = 155. Then about $15 for taxes, $5 each line. So $170.

Plus I’m not totally sure you can combine the promotional $20 autopay discount and multiline discount. I suspect but don’t know for sure once you convert one of the lines to multiline, you will lose the $20 promotional autopay discount.

The website shows this:

Not sure if the Plus plan is priced wrong.  If it’s correct the post tax cost would be about $180.

(keep in mind if you have installments, you pay off the full balance shown on the bill.)
