Ref new AT&T Plans (port in from TMobile)

Coming from Tmobile carrier unlocked galaxy S9 to AT&T $65 unlimited plan ($45 with auto pay). Lots of questions but want to be fully informed and feel many people can benefit from these answers! Please note these questions are specific to working with an unlocked tmobile device.

-Will the following features work and are there steps to provision my existing tmobile branded S9 that will be unlocked:

1. HD voice calling
2. Voice over LTE (VoLTE)
3. WIFI calling
4. Visual voice mail

-How do I get future Samsung updates? Since the phone was once developed for Tmobile

-Is phone flashed at AT&T store for AT&T features?

-Does prepaid have an account management app?

-On the $65 plan (45 with auto pay) is data subject to prioritization at ALL times or just after 22GB. And is it just slowed occassionally at times of congestion?

-Multi line discount:

If line 1 is $45 and line 2 is $35... say I one day decide to move line 2 to another carrier... does line 1 keep the $20 autopay discount and remain billedthe same monthly($45 total)?

Hello @ant1171984,

We can definitely answer these questions for you.

Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that those features will work properly on your cell phone because it isn't an AT&T branded device.

You may need to contact the original carrier, or manufacturer, to download the latest software updates if your device is not AT&T branded as well.

A cell phone that isn't AT&T branded cannot be flashed with AT&T features at one of our store locations.

You can use the myAT&T app to manage your AT&T PREPAID account. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the device App store, or by texting App to 8758.

All data usage may be temporarily slowed during times of network congestion on our $65 AT&T PREPAID plan.

Once a member of an AT&T PREPAID Multi-Line account is removed from the account, the account owner will no longer receive a Multi-Line discount for that member.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

1/2 HD voice calling/Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Same thing different name.  The S9 should convert (photos) and yes, it should get VoLTE.  Should.  No guarantees.
3. WIFI calling.  Very unlikely unless it converts.
4. Visual voice mail. No, not on prepaid

If the phone converts, it will update with AT&T.

-Is phone flashed at AT&T store for AT&T features?  If it converts, it’s done because Samsung built in the software, At&t has no say

-Does prepaid have an account management app?  No.  You use the paygonline website.  It does all the same things

-On the $65 plan (45 with auto pay) is data subject to prioritization at ALL times. Yes

or just after 22GB. No. And is it just slowed occassionally at times of congestion?  Yes⤴️

Auto pay discount is not affected if you become a single line again.

The blue screen it critical for the functions you’re asking for.   I suggest you borrow an AT&T SIM card to test it.  If the phone is unlocked and software up to date, power cycle and it should convert.  Good luck

You will not get it with android.   While WiFi calling is available, you have to have a compatible phone.   This is why I suggest you test the phone with an At&t sim.

The pics are they a former tmobile phone on att?   Nope, it was an At&t S8, moved to Verizon, and tried on t-mobile.  It converted each time and was full function on all 3 carriers.  I had an S9 (Verizon) that also converted but I don’t think I saved photos.  The S9 gave some trouble because the line was previously used by a oneplus, which does not get WiFi calling.  After updating IMEi it worked fine.
