International Roaming

I am on a monthly prepaid plan and will traveling to S. Korea at the end of the month. I see that an int'l roaming add-on does not cover that particular country. Are there any other options available for the ability to make calls and receive texts for a one-week stay? Thank you.

Prepaid does not roam in South Korea or anywhere else in Asia. The only other possible option for serviceis if WiFi calling is activated and it works from South Korea but I don’t know if WiFi calling is supported from there or not.

We are here to help with your international concerns, @DbMaj.

We understand how important it is to stay connected while traveling abroad. We have a few troubleshooting tips you can try. Try rebooting your phone (Press and hold the Power/Lock button, then select Restart.)

You may even try resetting your network connection. Swipe down from the Notification bar with two fingers, then select the Settings icon > scroll to and select System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth RESET SETTINGS > select RESET SETTINGS again to confirm.

If that does not work, go into cellular settings and see if you can select a carrier.

Lastly, try our Wireless Support tool for step-by-step troubleshooting tips. You may sign in for personalized help.

Try this and let us know how it goes.

@DbMaj Looks like the Fusion 5G does not have the radio bands needed to roam in Japan as where the A51 does.  As you said, the Fusion can work when connected to Wi-Fi.

Clarissa, all these things were already tested by your colleagues and failed to resolve my issue.  I repeated them once again by your suggestion and I still have No Service. I don't appreciate being asked over and over for hours and hours to "try" different.  ATT should be able to diagnose trouble and resolve issues with their own phone immediately.  Contact me when you discover the solution that will resolve my issue.  Meanwhile, keep your guesses to yourself.  I bought the phone and pay for your service expecting everything to work, always, nothing less.  Do something impressive!

You do realize there is no solution if Fl_retire is right about that phone not having the bands needed for Japan. Yeah, ATT should know that. By the way, you only get charged for the international day pass if the phone actually roams and has chargeable usage, so you aren’t out anything if the phone doesn’t get service. By the way, it’s not nice to hijack someone else’s thread. Your issue has nothing to do with the OP, you should start your own thread.
