I'm a student and I need a line

I'm very confused with the different types of lines available. I'm a student and I need a basic line (prepaid or postpaid). I only use around 10 GB per month of data.

I also need a new phone because my current phone is not compatible with the network in the U.S. It should also be a basic phone.

I don't mind paying months in advance to get discount.

Can someone help me find the best plan?

Also, when ordering a new line, it asks me to provide my "Contact phone number". However, the reason I'm buying a phone number is because I don't have any. What should I do in this case?

@Rakan

You going to go to AT&T prepaid, purchase whatever phone you can afford (I recommend you look at the Motorola one ace, which is half price with the purchase of unlimited data plan).

Once you pick the phone scroll down and select add to cart. It's going to suggest the unlimited plus plan in the next screen, select that plan and select "I want to save $25"

Unlimited plus is $50 a month for new sign UPS on auto pay.

If you want to save ten bucks next month, you can switch the plan to the $40 15 gig plan

$188 upfront

Don't forget to set up auto pay

Hi Rakan, let's help you get pointed in the right direction to activate an AT&T PREPAID account.

Follow these steps to activate your SIM Kit  for your device. You can then manage your account using this AT&T PREPAID options tool.

Let us know if this helps, and thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.
