Go into an AT&T corporate store They will provision a sim for 5 bucks. You transfer data through iTunes.

We don't know it's an iPhone, and unlikely the 3g phone is an iPhone.
You may be able to transfer contacts to sim card. But if you can back up to Google, please do. Contacts, calendar
