SIM card activated but phone not working

I just got a SIM card for prepaid service and activated it with my old phone number. I ported the number from "tossable digits", and on the ATT site it says the port is "confirmed". But it has been a week and I still can not log in to pay. Originally I ordered the SIM and a year of pre-pay, but I only got charged for the SIM. It is impossible to make a phone call and I can't reach anyone at ATT for help. Can anyone here help me?

Hey @schermer

Thanks for reaching out about your Prepaid activation!

Double check your SIM and phone activation.

What error are you receiving when trying to log into your account?

Check out the full process to activate your AT&T Prepaid device.

In the meantime check out the plan that best fits your needs.

Thanks for the reply. The error I get is

Error!

The information provided is not valid. Please try again.

The fields are pre-filled when I go from the SIM activation page to the mange account page, but even if i erase it and fill in my phone number and PIN, I stll get this error. The system recognizes my SIM number, IMEI, and zip code, but still won't let me log in.

When I call that number, the automated assistant does not recognize my phone number. I have gone around and around with the auto chat, auto voice mail, and ZERO human assistance for over a week now. Is there any way to get an intelligent being to communicate with me? This is getting to be ridiculous and I am about to give up on ATT entirely

You don’t understand! When I call that number I can’t even get to the point where I can wait, because the system does not recognize my phone number. That number is useless as long as you have to go through a bot that requires a phone number when the phone number IS the problem! Maybe you can give me a way to bypass that number entry and go directly to the waiting list?

I'm  having  this same issue  now. I have an unlock  samsung  galaxy  note 9. I can't  get  a live person for prepaid  on the phone. I have an account  number,  it says sim is activated  but when I log in says my number  is suspended.  I'm  lost and one on at the stores seem to help.

Hi @! Let's address how you can Use Your Own Device with AT&T Prepaid!

Please let us know if your number was ported in from another carrier. If yes, confirm that your number was Eligible To Transfer. If not eligible, please contact your previous provider.

Also, bring your own device with prepaid does require a universal sim card, make sure you selected bring your own device when purchasing a prepaid sim card to get the correct sim card. Learn more about using your own device with prepaid and how to order a prepaid sim card with the link provided above.

We hope this is helpful! Reach back to us if you have additional questions!
