Prepaid Sim card for GPS tracking device

I purchased a prepaid sim card to use in a GPS tracking device for my dog. The device has no IMEI number that I can find. Are AT&T prepaid SIM cards compatible these devices. They are considered wearable devices because they are also used for small children, the elderly and young drivers. This is a 4G device. The device requires a telephone number for data, but I am at a loss regarding activating my SIM card for this device.

BTW, most pet trackers have their own service plan through AT&T or T-Mobile, at a lower yearly rate than the $10 + taxes At&t charges.  Usually bulk priced by the year.

Whistle for example.

If you picked up some obscure, non USA, off brand, it's likely At&t may not activate it.

If it has all LTE bands, t-mo will, and Verizon might.

The $10 stand alone plan is actually postpaid.  Please set up the plan and sim at a corporate store.
