Post paid phone with prepaid
Can I use the ATT phone I was forced to by once I stupidly switched from another carrier due to inflated truth( ha ha) and had to purchase a new phone when the Sim locked up my perfectly good 2 month old phone from a different carrier which I was assured would be compatible ... 3 days without a phone and my only option was buy an att phone from the att store. Now that I've had time to shock my heart back to life from this 'Slightly higher bill than my previous $55 per month " ($208.00 att bill) I've decided to switch to prepaid like I have always had with another carrier only my n old phone is locked up still and after spending over 200 dollars for the att phone I wanted to know if I can be used for prepaid or if that's just another one of their lovely suckered punches and I'm screwed there too .... anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks

There's a few things you should know. If you purchase a phone from a different service provider it would be carrier locked for at least 60 days. AT&T phones sold on installments for postpaid cannot be activated on prepaid service until they are paid off. AT&T enforces its unpaid device policy which will not allow a device on installments to operate on another AT&T account.
Both Verizon and AT&t's first bills include more than one month's service, activation fees, and will include installments until any promotional discounts or credits kick in.
Prepaid requires that you pay for your phones at full price.
In order to migrate to prepaid you will have to go to a corporate store. They will require you to pay off your account and phone to migrate your phone number to prepaid service.

I paid for my phone in full. And they can keep my number and shove it where the Sun don't shine . I will NOT pay for their lies and unethical way of getting people to switch.
