One caller cannot leave voicemail

Recently I started having problems with one person (my husband) who gets no voice mail message from my phone & cannot leave a message to my phone.  He has Great Call using a Flip phone  & I have AT&T Prepaid on IPhone 11.  We can call & talk to each other. It is just the voicemail that is the problem. He can call, hear & leave messages for other providers (Spectrum, T-mobile, AT&T Postpaid). I can receive voicemails from others (US Cellular, T-mobile, Verizon).  AT-T Customer Support couldn’t figure it out.  Any trouble shooting ideas?

Hello @Classy, we'd be happy to look into why your significant other is unable to leave voice messages when calling your phone. 

 

At this time, we'd suggest for you both to attempt to reset the voicemail on your devices. If you have a new phone, or recently changed your phone or SIM card, you may need to set up your voicemail. Go to Device Support to learn how to set up voicemail on your phone.

Make sure you set up your voicemail within 60 days of activation or it’ll be automatically removed from your account.

 

Also, please let us know what error message your husband is receiving when attempting to call your device. This information will help us investigate more troubleshooting steps for your concern.

Both these devices are over a year old. There are no voicemail issues between him & anyone else (with any other cell phone service) so nothing needs to be done with his voicemail or phone. Supposedly Tech support elevated my ticket a week ago but no call from them as is typical of my past experiences with AT&T. 

I now believe the issue is AT&T Call Protect started marking my husbands and another friends number as spam and their is no way to mark numbers as safe with that app.  I have since deleted that app but now think there is a new AT&T Mobilty security program that I can’t stop from automatically blocking them.

Between this, the poor customer service and the many dead zones in my zip code,  I think it is time to find a new cell phone provider for my phone.
