Help with ensuring my phone will be compatible.
So bit of info about this; I am from Canada and was gonna get the eSIM version of a prepaid plan but wanted to make sure my phone works with the network. My phone is an iPhone 14 capable of having 1 eSIM and 1 regular SIM which was bought in Canada this past December. Checked the bands and I should be good (if you wana double check for me the model number is A2881 https://www.apple.com/iphone/cellular/#iphone-14-plus) since I have the coverage v/s what I read around on the boards and on other sites. I went into a AT&T store today and the customer service rep tried putting his SIM in my phone but it didn't connect to the network. Tried all the stops to get it working, restarting the phone and turning off the wifi, turning airplane mode on and off, etc... Was wondering if anyone could help me with this or if anyone knows what I should do next or if I should sadly give up my potential for getting the prepaid plan with AT&T.

Hello there, @Z_D. We understand how important it is to get your device up and running, we'll be more than happy to help you with that.
Your device appears to be compatible with our network.
We want to recommend that you enter your device IMEI , to check that your device is supported on our network.
We hope this helps.

An iPhone 14 should be fully compatible with ATT, I have no idea why the store rep’s SIM card wouldn’t work. The US version of the iPhone 14 is esim only, no physical SIM card slot but that should not make any difference. Is your iPhone unlocked?

I bought it directly from the Apple Store so I’m like 99% sure it’s unlocked since I didn’t do it through a carrier. I am financing it with Apple though so I don’t know if that changes anything.

Easy to check. Go to settings/general/about, scroll down to Carrier Lock. If unlocked, it will say “No sim restrictions”. Do you use the physical sim or esim with your Canadian carrier. If you use the esim, perhaps you have the physical sim disabled.

It shows "No sim restriction". Also I do see my physical SIM with my Canadian network (Chatr) but the network is now under T-Mobile since I'm roaming. I attached a screenshot of what I see but I blacked out the stuff I don't feel comfortable sharing.

Thank you! I put in the IMEI2 and it says it should wok with the eSIM. So there should be no problem with activating the eSIM with a prepaid plan on my phone correct?
