Hello!

We read the details you shared in with us, and let's get the assistance you need.

We want you to see if the call protection app is blocking the contacts. If the numbers are listed in the app as blocked, please follow these steps to get them unblocked:

  1. Open the app and go to Call Log.
  2. Tap the Blocked icon.
  3. Find and tap on the call that was blocked.
  4. Select Unblock.

You must also ensure that your "unknown caller" options are enabled or disabled:

  1. Open the app and tap Block.
  2. Tap Unknown Callers and read the requirements for this feature.
  3. Tap Send to Voicemail.
  4. Tap Enable to agree to the terms. Your contact list will start uploading.
  5. Keep the app open until you see the Unknown Callers option set to Voicemail.

Note: All other call categories or numbers you choose to block (like fraud and spam) will remain blocked. We'll be sure to send out all new callers who don't appear on your contact list to voicemail.

Also, please check to see if your device requires a software update and if AT&T Call Protect needs to be updated.

Additionally, refer to device Help > go to the calling & contacts option, click on block or unblock calls, and then follow the instructions.

Please get back to us and let us know how this information helped you.

Huh?

If your phone is blocking people that are in your contact list it sounds like you have do not disturb turned on.

Hello @Jfesmoney, we'd be more than happy to take a closer look into why your saved contacts are being blocked.

We'll need some additional details in order for us to better assist you:

  • Can you please check if you've turned on "DO NOT DISTURB" mode? (If yes, this will block all incoming calls)
  • What is the make and model of the wireless device that you're using?
  • Also, when you say that your saved contacts are being blocked, is this occurring with your cell phone's built-in blocking feature, or are you using the block list on the AT&T Call Protect app?

We look forward to hearing back from you soon! Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community & Forums.
