unlock iphone non customer

On the device unlock request form, if I click "NO" where it asks if I am a customer, the "next" button grays out. I have a clean IMEI phone that has been out of service for about two years ... it has a damaged screen. ATT doesn't work here in the boonies and I would like to unlock it, get it repaired, and use it ... with my current provider.

does ATT not have a way for non-customers to unlock eligible phones? don't tell me to fill out a request, your website won't let me . . . . .

There is nothing wrong with the website. After you select no, and put in an IMEI, you have to also select I am not a robot and answer yes to having read all the legal.
Only after doing all four things can you click on next

@lizdance40 That does NOT work. I am looking at the page right now. Selected NO, put in my IMEI, clicked on not a robot and answered yes to the legal . . . . the NEXT button is grayed out.

In the "legal" is this line about requirements . . . "You have AT&T service and no past due or unpaid balances."

THEREFORE . . . . you cannot unlock if you are not a customer. The website won't allow it. If you don't believe me, TRY IT YOURSELF and see what happens.

@Quiltlady2012 unless the IMEI kicks out immediately, in which case, read the top of the page for a rejection - no.

non customers CAN submit an unlock. Why else have the option? 🤔

enter the IMEI and check for a message box up top.

@lizdance40 Update

I tried the form again .... at least a dozen times. Same result.

Then I tried it one more time . . . and the "next" button abruptly lit up bright green. I think the website was having a problem . . . but it finally did work.

Got to the part about check my email to confirm, which I did immediately. Put in my other SIM card and it was a done deal.

I guess sometimes you have to just keep trying and be persistent. Between yesterday and today, I tried the form dozens of times . . . maybe there was a counter to see if I was serious. Oh well. It's working now.

Thanks anyway
